This page explains CuriOra in everyday language. The full legal document is our Privacy Policy. If anything conflicts, the Privacy Policy wins.
What we need so the product works
- Parent account — email (and optional phone), name, sign-in.
- Family structure — child profiles (e.g. first name, birth year), devices you pair, guardians you invite.
- Usage & rules — app usage summaries, limits, schedules, and enforcement events needed for fair screen budgets.
- Device health signals — things like last sync, battery, online status so parents know if monitoring is working.
- Optional location — only if enabled on the kid device; used as last check-in style “last seen,” not continuous tracking.
- Quests / photos you choose to share — when a child submits evidence for a parent-approved quest, that content is processed to complete the flow.
- Billing (Premium) — payment is handled with our payment partner; we store subscription and order records needed for access.
What we don’t do with your data
- We don’t sell family data as a product catalog for advertisers.
- We don’t put kids through in-app purchases for Premium.
- We don’t require location for core limits—skip it if you prefer.
- We don’t present CuriOra as a live CCTV or continuous GPS stalker product. See What we won’t do.
How access is controlled
- Parents sign in; child devices use a secure device session after pairing.
- Family data is shared with guardians you add—not with the public.
- You can remove a device, leave a family (where the product allows), or close an account per policy.
Security in practice
- Traffic to our services uses encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- Access to backend systems is restricted to people who operate the product.
- If we become aware of a serious incident, we follow our legal duties and communicate as required.
No product can promise “perfect security.” We work to reduce risk and keep only what the product needs.
Your controls
- Revoke Android permissions for Kids in system settings.
- Remove a device from Parent → Devices.
- Skip optional location.
